OUR HISTORY
Our Traditions Embrace Our Times.
Our legacy of service started in 1897 when J.C. Wilson founded a funeral home in Greenwood, Indiana. Robert R. St. Pierre, a fourth generation funeral director, managed the business for several years prior to purchasing the company in 1964.
Robert’s sons, Michael who joined the family firm in 1969 and Steven who followed suit in 1973, had become very active in the family business. When Robert passed away in 1977, Michael and Steven took over the management and ownership of the firm. Today, the sixth generation of funeral directors serves alongside them.
Through the years, the entire family has worked diligently to meet the ever-changing needs of the community.
- Adding several convenient locations throughout Indianapolis and Central Indiana to better serve area families.
- Opening the Greater South Side Crematory (1993) - offering families complete peace of mind in knowing their loved one never leaves our family-owned, on premise crematory.
- Launching public relations campaigns for Child Safety in the Home and Drunk Driving and Drug Use Prevention that have been honored by The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and the Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Company Blue Chip Program.
- Creating dignified new ways to tell the story of a life including DVD tributes, unique tribute options, remembrance jewelry and more.
As the local, family-owned firm, we are deeply committed to the community and to being at your side when you need support the most. Trust our family to serve your family.
