Our History

Six Generations of Service.

Our legacy of service started in 1897 when J.C. Wilson founded a funeral home in Greenwood, Indiana. Robert R. St. Pierre, a fourth generation funeral director, managed the business for several years prior to purchasing the company in 1964.

Robert’s son, Michael joined the family firm in 1969 and his brother Steven followed suit in 1973. When Robert passed away in 1977, his sons took over the firm. Today, the sixth generation of St. Pierre funeral directors serves alongside them.

Through the years, the entire family has worked diligently to meet the ever-changing needs of our community. We’ve added several convenient locations throughout Indianapolis and Central Indiana to better serve you. And in 1993, we opened the Greater South Side Crematory. Our family-owned, on premise crematory offers you complete peace of mind knowing your loved one never leaves our care.

Our Philosophy

It’s been our philosophy to give back to the community, which is why we launched campaigns for Child Safety in the Home and Drunk Driving and Drug Use Prevention; and have been honored by The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and the Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Company Blue Chip Program.

We are constantly creating new, dignified ways to tell the story of a life including DVD tributes, unique tribute options, remembrance jewelry and more.

As the local, family-owned firm, we are deeply committed to every family we serve. Which is why you can trust us to serve you when you need support the most.
